Kerala Blasters is the only club in the Indian Super League that currently does not have a head coach. Earlier, Kerala Blasters had sacked head coach Michael Stahre following the team’s poor performance. Later, Kerala Blasters had also announced that they would soon find a new head coach. Subsequently, TG Purushothaman, who was the team’s assistant coach, and Thomas Chorz,
who was the reserve team head coach, were given the temporary coaching charge of the Kerala Blasters main team. However, the management could not find a coach as expected. Moreover, Kerala Blasters were able to perform well under the temporary coaches. Kerala Blasters, which played 12 ISL matches under Michael Stahre, were able to win only 3 wins. At the same time, the team was able to win three out of the four matches played under TG Purushothaman.
With this, the management has now decided to let TG Purushothaman’s team take control of Kerala Blasters until the end of the season. There is another reason for that, the Kerala Blasters management wants to acquire former ISL champion coach Sergio Lobero. Reports are coming out that it has now become a reality. Manorama, which is also the official media partner of the team, reported that Kerala Blasters has signed Sergio Lobero, who is currently the coach of Odisha FC. The services of this Spanish coach will be available to Kerala Blasters from the next season.
